Meet the instructor
Dr. Architect Mahmoud Zine El Abidine
is a highly esteemed member of the Faculty of Architecture at Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. With extensive experience as a professor of architectural design at various Turkish universities, including Okan University, Sabahattin Al-Zaim University, and Gallişim University, he has earned a solid reputation as an expert in his field.
In addition to his teaching, Dr. Mahmoud has authored and published over 15 books on architecture and urban heritage in Arabic, English, and Turkish, earning him prestigious awards such as the Sheikh Zayed Book Award and the Italian “Fondazoni Sangatta” award for his groundbreaking work in Ottoman Mosque Architecture and the Aleppo project.
As an expert in his field, Dr. Mahmoud has organized several successful training courses and workshops related to architectural design and urban heritage, in collaboration with numerous Turkish universities, municipalities, and the German Institute of Archeology in Istanbul. He has also executed many significant documentation projects, including documenting Ottoman buildings in Saudi Arabia and the Aleppo project between Yesterday and today towards the future.
